Agency Development Services exists because too many growing insurance agencies hit the same walls — and most "advisors" weren't equipped to help them climb over.
Agency Development Services didn't start as a business. It started as a phone that wouldn't stop ringing.
Over 15 years inside the insurance industry — building my own agency, working across several of the largest IMOs in the country, and helping design recruiting and training platforms for some of those same IMOs — I kept running into the same pattern. An agent or agency owner would come to me with a problem I couldn't solve directly, but I knew exactly who could. So I'd make the introduction. Over and over.
Eventually, the introductions were the value. Agents started reaching out because they'd heard, "Talk to Jim — he knows where to send you." That's when ADS became a real thing.
Today, Agency Development Services is a brand of The Meliora Group LLC, headquartered in Crestline, Ohio. The mission is simple: help agents and agency owners get connected to the people and tools they need to grow — at no cost to them. The network does the work. My job is making sure the right introductions happen at the right moments.
Founder & Principal Consultant
15+ years in the insurance industry. Built and grew my own agency. Held leadership roles inside several of the largest IMOs in the country, where I built recruiting and training platforms that onboarded and developed thousands of agents.
Today I spend my time doing what I'm best at: connecting people who need something to the people who have it — and helping agency owners think clearly about the next step. Based in Ohio, working with agents and agencies across the country.
Some agencies should stay small and excellent. Others should triple in size. We don't push owners toward the version of "growth" they don't actually want.
The carriers, capital partners, recruiters, and aggregators we connect you with matter as much as the strategy. We're careful about who we send you to.
AI and digital tooling are real competitive advantages — but only if you implement them in ways your team will actually use. We don't believe in big-bang transformations.
If we don't think we can help, we'll tell you — and usually we know someone who can. The cost of bad advice in this industry is too high to be polite about.
